2024 Campain

Many of you have supported the Holy Family Parish and invested in its secondary school project for girls over the past two years. The steps taken by the community of Lévis were diverse, and your donations made it possible for each of them to come true, moving step by step towards the desired objective. This project fills a vital need for parishes in Quebec. With the primary mission of supporting Catholic education in our regions, Fondation Fides has been your intermediary for this project from the start.

History of our approaches

In 2022, our research initially led us to a property in Beaumont, on the banks of the St. Lawrence River. However, the sale could not be completed, despite our efforts, due to zoning constraints in this area. It was the same for a second in the very heart of St-Michel-de-Bellechasse. The following year, thanks to a fundraiser which raised an amount of $20,750, we were able to save a historic building, commonly called the Pavilion, which temporarily accommodates secondary school girls from École Sainte Famille.
Finally in 2023, efforts with the Dominicans of Fanjeaux have, thanks to your prayers, borne fruit.

Where we are

We now know in what form the girls' school project will come to life. By the arrival of the Dominican teachers in September 2025, under the banner of the Holy Family School, on the grounds of the Pavilion which is adjacent to this institution. The superior of the District of Canada of the SSPX, as well as the prior of Lévis having officially given their authorization to this initiative, all stakeholders are therefore in agreement to move forward.
The School and the Dominican teachers will work together to offer the children a deep intellectual and spiritual formation. The arrival of the nuns represents a unique opportunity to enrich the parish of Lévis, by integrating an education based on truth, faith and Catholic virtue.
But this project brings its share of challenges.
Dominican Mothers need property for their living environment. Having identified this need as soon as their potential arrival was announced, Foundation Fides undertook to acquire a house for them near the girls' school project on the grounds of the Sainte Famille school. Previous fundraisers having raised $101,000 to date, they allow us to quickly purchase the lot. But the needs are still great. Work on the building and its financing are necessary.

Already more than $100,000 for a goal of $350,000

A donation that counts double! A generous donor pledges to match every contribution received for this campaign, doubling the impact of your support. This means that each dollar donated will be multiplied by two, bringing us closer to a goal of $350,000 for Easter 2025. By participating in this fundraiser, you are helping to purchase the house intended to accommodate these nuns teachers and allow them to settle in our region to pursue their educational mission. The foundation presented a purchase offer which was accepted by the current owners: the transaction will be completed on November 27 thanks to your support.

Your generosity counts

Your involvement touches our hearts every time, and we want you to know that your generosity makes a real difference. Every contribution counts and will make a difference for the families of Sainte-Famille Parish and Quebec. In recent years, the education of young girls in the region has come at the cost of great sacrifices for these same families, either by traveling to the United States where the Dominicans are already established, or in many other ways.
The arrival of the Dominicans, with their experience and your support, is a relief for Tradition in Quebec. This project, which began as a simple idea, a shared ambition, has become a concrete reality thanks to the commitment, passion and perseverance of each of us.
